Special Educational Needs of one type or another exist in almost every class. Each academic year will present its own challenges, some will affect the entire class. An internalising child is as concerning as an aggressive pupil. Additional needs are so extraordinarily diverse, each producing strengths and difficulties, that supporting an entire class as well as meeting each of their requirements is time consuming and in some cases emotionally draining.

Whilst some children warrant additional support to both the teacher and the pupil, situation, financial constraints and local education provision sometimes does not allow continuous assistance for others who have difficulties in equal measure. For others, short term intervention is all that is required to put them back on track to achieving their goals.
